Blood Donation Camp February 2008
Community awareness, a concept that is unheard of in rural India, seems to be growing in Atla Village
The first of the medical camps for 2008 began with a Blood Donation Camp in February. Aprroximately 70 people came forward to donate blood. As a result, our medical centre was able to collect a further 70 "cards" given by the blood donation service; these will help reduce costs during future surgical procedures required for referred sponsored cases. The bigger turnout this time from the local population suggests our teachings of community awareness are slowly succeeding among the villagers.
