The beginning

The construction of the centre from architects’ plans took about 8 months to complete, from May 2004 to December 2004. Specially raised foundations had to be built due to severe flooding problems faced in the local area during the monsoon season. Today, the building sits surrounded by lush green paddy fields and can be seen from miles around; it is the only one of its kind in the local area.

The building is approximately 7000sq ft per each floor; it has three floors and two sweeping spiral staircases. The ground floor houses our primary medical clinic, the physiotherapy clinic, the elderly day care centre and other administration offices. On the first floor are the Learning Centre classrooms, the optometry clinic, the computer room, a well stocked library, large kitchen and dining room aswell as other numerous staff and guest quarters. The second floor is a very big, open flat roof which will come in useful for large scale events that may be held at the centre.
